About Me
Innovation is important to me.
I like to innovate and the mindset that goes with it. There’s almost always a creative way to improve something. I try to think about problems in different ways.
I ask “Why?”. I challenge the status quo
And doing so, I’ve designed better products. My coworkers (and management) can attest to this.
I’m a psychology nerd. And it gives me a unique edge in UX.
Human interest is a passion. How people think and behave fascinates me. I have a masters degree in it. That interest provides me a unique perspective on everything from UX, to relationships, to design. I tend to reference psychological principles and research papers in my work.
I listen to what people mean, and not exactly to what they say.
Sometimes stakeholders will say “We need it to be red.” when they mean, “We need it to be more prominent.” Or “We need to reduce the number of clicks.” when they really mean, “We want to improve a cumbersome experience.” It’s the language they’re used to. But it’s important that the UX Designer dig in to find the really concerns and problems.
I’m naturally curious
Mostly a good thing, as it broadens my mind. But I admit I’ve wandered down more than a few rabbit holes.
Leadership and mentoring
I’m experienced at leading multi-disciplinary teams consisting of UX Designers, Visual Designers, Animators, Copywriters - all to a common goal of creating user friendly experiences, all within an Agile framework.
